Sylvia Craig Hunter Dahlia

$18.00

Prepare to have your dahlia growing socks knocked off because Sylvia does not disappoint - and I don’t say that lightly.

Having posted a video on Instagram about her because I was so gobsmacked once she bloomed, I think I can honestly say it was her slightly twisty petal formation that won my heart! Her color, her bloom size, her petal count, her robust growth and stem strength are all amazing and if I had more space I wouldn’t be selling any of her tubers because I would plant every one for my own enjoyment.

I think her color is a kind of raspberry orange while others have commented that she is coppery red…bronzey orange…terracotta-ish. She starts blooming just as you need something spectacular to happen in your Fall garden and even a single bloom in the proper vase makes quite a statement. Blooms are a 5-6” formal decorative but the impressive petal count of her blooms and the way they reflexed back made her appear as a giant ball of color that lasted for days. She topped out at around 6.5’ so be sure to give her some support.

Sylvia Craig Hunter will ALWAYS have a place in my garden!
